New Board Members

FOOD BANK OF NORTH CENTRAL ARKANSAS ANNOUNCES NEW BOARD MEMBERS

Four new board members were welcomed to the Board of Directors at the December 14th board meeting of the Food Bank of North Central Arkansas:

· Andrew Bailey, a lifelong resident of the Mountain Home area and co-founder of Bailey & Russo, PLC and a part-time public defender with the Baxter County Public Defender’s Office;

· Martha Grant, from Mountain Home, and who is a certified public accountant with her own firm, Grant CPA;

· Randy Ludwig, a native of the Twin Lakes area, serves as Associate Pastor of the First United Methodist Church in Mountain Home; and

· Stacy Sheid, a Mountain Home native who is involved in the family business, Sheid’s Furniture where she continues her experience in Interior Design and furniture merchandising.

Debby Stanuch, Chairman of the Board, said, "We welcome the addition of Andrew, Martha, Randy and Stacy to our board.   Their experience, enthusiasm, ideas and dedication to serving those in need will be a tremendous asset as we proceed with the work associated with the Planning Grant from the D. W. Reynolds Foundation and our mission of feeding the hungry in the nine county area of North Central Arkansas."

Other board members of the Food Bank of North Central Arkansas include, Dr. Richard Byrd and wife, Jo Ann Byrd, Gary Averill, Roger Carlson, Alice King, Jo Wilson, Jan Wilson, Jess Vanderstek, and Jeff Quick.  Linda Finley is the executive director.

Special Christmas Event for Local Children

NORFORK COMMUNITY CARE PROGRAM AND NORFORK VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT SPONSOR SPECIAL CHRISTMAS EVENT

On December 12th. The Food Bank of North Central Arkansas and the Norfork Volunteer Fire Department partnered together this year to bring Christmas cheer to 93 children and 86 adults that are served by the Norfork Community Care Program’s food pantry in Norfork.

The Christmas event was held at the Norfork Community Center which was brightly decorated by volunteers. All of the children had the opportunity to sit on Santa’s lap and share their Christmas “wish list” with him. Volunteers handed out several gifts and a surprise bag of “gummy worms” to each child! Refreshments of chili, popcorn, and hot chocolate were served to all!
