In Arkansas, 78% of food pantries operate solely with volunteers. In addition to volunteer opportunities throughout our Partner Hunger Relief Organization Network, the Food Bank of NCA benefits from roughly 20,000 volunteer hours annually.

  • Meal Packaging
  • Product Sorting
  • Cleaning  
1 to 3 individuals are needed each day to: 
  • Help staff fill orders for agencies
  • Help staff stock shelves

  • Answer Phones
  • Copy and File
  • Put Together Mail Outs
  • Data Entry
  • Help Staff Prepare for Events

Mobile Pantries

Every Tuesday | 2nd & 3rd Wednesdays | 3rd Fridays

2 to 5 individuals are needed each day:
 
  • Sort food
  • Fill boxes/bags with food
  • Put boxes/bags in neighbor’s cars
  • Greet & check in neighbors
  • Cleaning

9:00 A.M. TO 3:30 P.M. TUES - FRI / 9:30 A.M. TO 2:00 P.M. SAT

5 to 8 individuals are needed daily:
 
  • Sort Donations
  • Clean Donations
  • Display items in the store
  • Move boxes and furniture to and from the store room
  • Operate the cash register

INFORM LOCAL OFFICIALS ABOUT AREA HUNGER

Make a difference by advocating for hunger issues in your group or with legislators. Use your voice to aid our food-insecure neighbors in north central Arkansas. We can connect you with lawmakers, offer talking points, and assist with presentations for various organizations. Let’s use our voices for change!

Host a Food Drive

FOOD DRIVES HELP YOUR NEIGHBORS IN NEED

Considering a food drive? Collaborate with the Food Bank of NCA for guidance on food safety, item selection, and event timing. We can also promote your event through our website, social media, and radio campaigns. Leverage the experience of past food drive organizers!

RULES WHEN COLLECTING FOOD

  • Collect only non-perishable food items.
  • Do not collect any homemade items.
  • Keep personal care items separate from food items (i.e. mouthwash).
  • No glass, please! Glass items can chip and break easily in the barrels.

MOST NEEDED ITEMS

  • Canned Meats/Fish/Poultry
  • Canned or Packaged Meals
  • Macaroni & Cheese
  • Peanut Butter
  • Cereal and Crackers
  • Beans, Soups, Stews, and Chili
  • Canned Vegetables and Fruits
  • Fruit Juices
